A: Founded in 2002, United Cancer Front is a tax-exempt charitable national cancer research initiative and alliance, led by Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Dennis J. Slamon. We raise funds in support of leading cancer physicians and scientists who are working to develop the next generation of new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to the problem of cancer. The alliance is made up of medical and scientific researchers from preeminent institutions across the country who are charged with developing these new approaches to the benefit of patients challenged with the diagnosis of cancer.

Q: How has the United Cancer Front made a difference in the fight against cancer?

A: United Cancer Front’s Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Slamon, and his colleagues were among the first to deliver novel targeted therapies for breast cancer, and their approach has already provided revolutionary new treatments, including Herceptin and Ibrance, which has resulted in helping over 3.5 million women. These treatments are revolutionary and Dr. Slamon and team are on the front lines of cancer research and poised to deliver new targeted therapies for many other disciplines of cancer.

Q: How will my donation be used?

A: The United Cancer Front research alliance is designed to expand and swiftly translate the most recent effective innovations and novel basic science findings into new approaches that will address critical current challenges in cancer medicine. These include earlier diagnosis and the identification of therapies specifically tailored to an individual patient’s cancer, resulting in more effective therapies which significantly improve outcomes and safety, while simultaneously decreasing treatment toxicities.

Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?

A: Yes, the United Cancer Front is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization and your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. Our Tax ID number is 95-4865948. If your donation was made online, you’ll receive an individual donation receipt as well as a Yearly Donation Summary in the first week of February.

Q: What percentage of money raised it spent on cancer research?

A: The United Cancer Front research alliance is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to translating the latest scientific findings into novel approaches and treatments that will address critical current challenges in cancer medicine. While we do use some of our funding to cover basic operating expenses, over 85% of the money we raise goes directly to cancer research.
